Megafish ("we", "us", "the platform") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and what we do — and don't do — with it.

1. WHAT WE COLLECT

Your key (stored as a hash)	To authenticate you. We never store your raw key in plain text.
MBTI type	To match you with compatible users (16 types, equal 6.25% representation).
Preference (Straight / LGBTQ+)	To show you relevant profiles.
Bio	What you want others to know about you.
Photos	So others can see you.
Messages	So you can communicate with other users.
Last activity timestamp	To show who's online.
IP address (temporarily, in server logs)	For security and rate limiting. Logs rotate every 7 days.

2. WHAT WE DO NOT COLLECT

Data	Why we don't collect it
Email address	You don't need one. You have a key.
Phone number	You don't need one. You have a key.
Real name (unless you put it in your bio)	You are your handle.
Credit card information	No premium tiers. No payments.
Government ID	We don't verify identities. You verify each other.
Location data	No GPS. No "find nearby." No tracking.
Browsing history	None. We don't track what you do off the platform.

3. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

To operate Megafish — show profiles, send messages, display photos.
To improve the platform — fix bugs, optimize performance.
To prevent abuse — block spammers, ban harassers.

We do NOT use your data for: targeted advertising, machine learning/AI training, selling to data brokers, or any purpose you didn't explicitly agree to.

4. WHAT WE DO NOT SELL

We do not sell your personal data. Period. Not to advertisers. Not to data brokers. Not to anyone.

If we ever sell the platform, your data will transfer to the buyer under the same privacy commitments — or we will delete it before transfer.

5. DATA RETENTION

Key hash	Until you delete your account

When you delete your account (by losing your key or requesting deletion), all your data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. WHO HAS ACCESS TO YOUR DATA

You — you can see your own profile, messages, and photos.
Other Megafish users — they can see your public profile (handle, MBTI, bio, photos) and messages you send them.
The founder (James Presnell III) — can see all data for platform maintenance, security, and abuse prevention.
No one else. We do not share data with third parties except: to comply with a valid court order, to protect user safety, or to prevent fraud/abuse.

7. SECURITY

We take reasonable measures to protect your data: keys are stored as hashes, server logs rotate every 7 days, and we apply regular security updates. But no platform is 100% secure. If a data breach occurs, we will notify affected users within 72 hours of discovery.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

You have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your data. To exercise these rights, contact us through the platform.

9. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

Megafish is for users 18 and older. If we discover a user is under 18, we will delete their key and remove all associated data immediately.

10. COOKIES

Megafish uses no tracking cookies. We may use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. That's it.

11. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Your continued use of Megafish after changes means you accept the new policy.
